A passenger in the critically injured man’s vehicle also required hospital care for minor injuries. The driver of the other sedan was similarly taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
North Las Vegas police are investigating the cause of the crash and believe that impairment may have played a role in the incident. Authorities are urging anyone who has information pertaining to the crash to contact the North Las Vegas Police Department.
In a separate incident that took place late Monday night, a motorcycle crash claimed the life of a woman in North Las Vegas. The accident occurred just after 11 p.m. near North 5th Street and Washburn Road while the woman was riding a Yamaha R6 motorcycle in a southbound direction alongside another motorcyclist. For reasons that remain unclear, her motorcycle hit a raised center median, causing it to veer across both southbound lanes. As a result of the collision, the motorcycle left the road and struck a wooden utility pole.
Responding officers arrived to find the woman unresponsive, and she was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene. The second motorcyclist, who was traveling ahead of her, did not sustain any injuries and remained at the location. Preliminary investigations have not indicated that impairment contributed to this particular crash.
The Clark County Coroner’s Office is expected to release the identity of the deceased woman once her next of kin have been notified. In the wake of these tragedies, local authorities are continuing to investigate both incidents, aiming to ascertain the precise circumstances surrounding the accidents.
