North Las Vegas – Two individuals were hospitalized following an officer-involved shooting on Monday morning, which stemmed from a drive-by shooting investigation that took place the previous night. The incident occurred around 10:39 PM on Sunday, near the intersection of West Lone Mountain Road and Scott Robinson Boulevard.

Officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) were conducting a follow-up investigation related to an earlier drive-by shooting that happened in the 5100 block of Hickman Avenue on Sunday morning. During this investigation, law enforcement personnel identified two vehicles they believed were connected to the earlier incident.

As officers approached these vehicles, the occupants allegedly fired shots at the police, striking two LVMPD vehicles. In response, one officer discharged their weapon, resulting in injuries to two individuals involved in the shooting.

The two suspects were promptly transported to a local hospital for treatment. One of the individuals is reported to be in critical condition, while the other has sustained injuries that are not life-threatening. Fortunately, no officers were injured during this exchange of gunfire.

Authorities have confirmed that this incident marks the fourth officer-involved shooting in the LVMPD jurisdiction for the year 2025. As part of standard procedure, the identity of the officer who fired their weapon will be released after a 48-hour period, in accordance with LVMPD policy. The investigation into the shooting is currently ongoing.

Members of the public who may have additional information regarding the incident are encouraged to reach out to the LVMPD Force Investigation Team at 702-828-8452. Alternatively, individuals can provide information anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 702-385-5555 or visiting their website.

The officer-involved shooting comes amidst heightened scrutiny of police use of force and the complexities surrounding officer conduct during such critical incidents. Community members continue to follow these events closely as investigations unfold to gain more clarity on circumstances surrounding police actions in North Las Vegas.

This incident highlights ongoing safety concerns within the community, particularly related to gun violence and its impact on local neighborhoods. As investigations continue, additional information may emerge that could provide further insight into the context of the drive-by shooting that initially attracted police attention.

As law enforcement agencies work to address community safety, incidents like this one underline the importance of collaboration between police and residents to promote a secure environment for all. In the wake of this shooting, community members are reminded to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to prevent future incidents.
