Dreitzer was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, where he was the oldest son of Marty and Arlene Dreitzer. Displaying incredible intelligence from an early age, he was enrolled in the Astor Program for students with exceptional abilities and graduated from Canarsie High School at the young age of 17. He then attended the Industrial Labor Relations (ILR) School at Cornell University, graduating with honors and making the Dean’s List before working for a prominent labor union in New York City for a year.

Following his passion for law, Dreitzer completed his Juris Doctor at Washington University in St. Louis in 1994. Shortly after, he moved to Nevada to be near his brother, Mike Dreitzer, where he embarked on a stellar legal career at various prestigious law firms in Southern Nevada. His remarkable command of the law, professionalism, and fairness made him invaluable, earning him admiration from colleagues and clients alike. In a distinguished role, he served as President of the Nevada State Bar during its Centennial year, showcasing his leadership and dedication to the legal profession.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dreitzer contributed to the community by serving for many years as the President of the Board of KNPR, reinforcing his commitment to civic duty. Known affectionately as a “lion of a man,” he was recognized for his towering intellect and remarkable articulation skills. Despite his success, he was renowned for his kindness and patience towards everyone in his life, characteristics that endeared him to many.

Rich Dreitzer is survived by his wife, Lorisa, who was described as the “apple of his eye,” his daughter Julia, and his stepdaughter Meghan Bobilya. He maintained a close bond with his brother Mike throughout his life, and he was also a loving father figure to his stepdaughter and an amazing uncle to Sam and Charlie. He was deeply loved by his parents and extended family, who cherished him for his immense heart and caring nature.

A funeral service for Rich Dreitzer is scheduled for Friday, September 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM at King David Memorial Chapel & Cemetery in Las Vegas, NV. A committal service will follow at 11:00 AM at an external service location in Las Vegas, NV.
