The event featured various activities including live music, classic car shows, and numerous local vendors. Complimentary meals were provided for military personnel, veterans, and first responders who presented valid identification. The day began with a tribute to all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces and first responders, featuring color guard presentations and special guests.

Noteworthy highlights included live entertainment and the Vegas Cruisin’ Classic Car Show. A unique “Battle of the Branches” tug of war event was hosted by local personalities Jeff Leach and Piff the Magic Dragon. Children enjoyed a dedicated kids’ activity zone that kept them engaged throughout the day, while adults had access to mental health resources and community information booths.

Admission was complimentary for everyone attending, making the event accessible to all community members who wished to participate in honoring local heroes. In addition to the celebrations at Craig Ranch Regional Park, the Vegas Golden Knights announced a Military Appreciation Knight scheduled for Veterans Day at T-Mobile Arena. This game, which will feature a matchup against the Carolina Hurricanes at 7 p.m. PT on November 11, includes special welcomes for active-duty personnel and veterans.

The Military Appreciation Knight is presented by True Vet Solutions and will feature special guests from various military branches, with in-game salutes to honor the contributions of military personnel. Fans will have an opportunity to fill out “I Salute” signs to recognize military figures in their lives. Additionally, City National Bank will present a check to The Folded Flag Foundation during the game; this organization provides educational scholarships and support grants to military families.

Fans will also have the chance to bid on specially designed jerseys that players will sign and auction, with proceeds going to benefit The Folded Flag Foundation. The auction will be open from 5:45 p.m. PT until 9 p.m. PT on game day, and interested fans can view the jerseys in person at Sections 11 and 12. In addition to jerseys, Military Appreciation Knight warmup pucks and several other commemorative items such as jerseys and t-shirts will be available for purchase at various locations.

As part of the game experience, there will also be an annual food drive encouraging fans to donate nonperishable food items. A special ticket package offers veterans and active-duty military personnel discounted entry to the game.

Looking ahead, the Henderson Silver Knights will also honor military personnel with a dedicated Military Appreciation Knight on February 8, 2025, against the Calgary Wranglers. This event will feature Air Force-themed jerseys and special perks for military members. Active and retired military personnel can purchase tickets starting at $29, along with free parking with valid military ID. The first 3,000 fans will receive a free bobblehead, and attendees will have the opportunity to bid on players’ game-worn jerseys in a silent auction, with proceeds benefiting veterans’ organizations.

Veterans Day, observed on November 11, commemorates the end of World War I and was established by President Woodrow Wilson in 1919 as Armistice Day. Various events in Las Vegas this Veterans Day include a ceremony and parade at the Nevada State Veterans Home. Death Valley National Park is offering visitors free entrance to honor veterans, while the Las Vegas Mini Grand Prix is providing free unlimited passes for veterans who make a qualifying purchase.
