A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a bus in Henderson early on August 4, 2025. The incident took place around 12:45 a.m. at the intersection of Racetrack Road and Burkholder Boulevard. The police and fire department responded promptly, but the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. The Clark County coroner’s office will release the identity of the motorcyclist once next of kin have been notified.

The collision involved a Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) bus that was traveling east on Racetrack Road. The bus attempted to make a left turn onto northbound Burkholder Boulevard while under a flashing yellow turn signal. At the same time, the motorcyclist was traveling west on Racetrack Road and collided with the front right corner of the bus. The impact of the crash caused the motorcyclist to be ejected from the motorcycle.

Authorities confirmed that the bus was not in service at the time of the accident. The driver of the bus remained at the scene and was subsequently issued a citation. An investigation conducted by the police determined that factors such as speed and impairment were not considered to contribute to the collision.

The intersection of Racetrack Road and Burkholder Boulevard was closed for approximately five hours to facilitate the investigation of the accident. This tragic incident marks the sixth fatality related to accidents in Henderson for the year 2025.

Local authorities are urging anyone with additional information regarding the crash to reach out to the Henderson Police Department at 702-267-4911 or to submit anonymous tips via Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.

Road safety remains a pressing concern in the area as the number of accident-related fatalities continues to rise. Community members are advised to exercise caution while traveling near busy intersections, particularly during late hours when visibility may be reduced.
