Honolulu, Hawaii – Acclaimed performer Jacquelyn Holland-Wright is set to make her highly anticipated return to the stage, reprising her renowned role as Rose in the beloved musical Gypsy. These special performances will serve as a charity fundraiser for the I’m A Bright Kid Foundation and will take place in Hawaii from August 8 to August 24.

The performances are particularly poignant as the opening night, August 8, coincides with what would have been the 55th birthday of Holland-Wright’s late high school best friend, Jade Stice. In honor of their past and their shared love for theater, the fundraising event is dedicated to Stice, who passed away. The year 2025 will mark four decades since both girls starred in Gypsy during their senior year at James B. Castle High School.

Holland-Wright is currently starring in the musical Menopause the Musical at Harrah’s on the Las Vegas Strip, showcasing her talent as a Soap Star. After the Hawaii engagements, she will return to her role in Las Vegas on September 2, further solidifying her status as a leading performer in the entertainment industry.

Born and raised in Kailua, Hawaii, Holland-Wright began her illustrious career as a performer at a young age, making her stage debut in 1977 as young Gretl in The Sound of Music. Her breakout role as Rose in 1987 was directed by the late Ron Bright, marking a significant milestone in her career. Over the past 30 years, she has graced both Las Vegas and Broadway stages, captivating audiences with her powerful performances.

Gypsy, which first premiered on Broadway on May 21, 1959, features the story of Rose, a fierce stage mother determined to push her daughters into the world of entertainment. The musical has resonated with audiences for decades, and Holland-Wright’s return to the role continues to keep its rich legacy alive.

In addition to her work in Menopause the Musical, Holland-Wright’s impressive career includes originating the lead role of Jocelyn in the world premiere of Sudoku The Musical and performing in productions such as Divorce Party. Throughout her journey, she has shared the stage with notable artists including Rick Springfield, Ruth Pointer, Jennifer Hudson, and Jessica Simpson.

Unexpectedly finding herself in Las Vegas while working on cruise ships, Holland-Wright stumbled upon an audition for EFX at the MGM Grand, which catapulted her into the vibrant Las Vegas performance scene. Her multifaceted career spans acting, singing, voice-over artistry, and coaching, making her a distinguished member of the Actors Equity Association.

Beyond her performance career, Holland-Wright has been an ardent advocate for animal health, raising funds for canine cancer research through her concert Anyway in 2019. Additionally, she dedicates time to volunteering as a judge for master classes at The Smith Center’s Nevada High School Musical Theater Awards, fostering the next generation of talent.

As Holland-Wright prepares to take the stage once more in the iconic role of Rose, she exemplifies the fusion of talent and passion, making her a cherished figure in Hawaii’s theater community.
