Las Vegas – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) is currently investigating multiple armed robbery incidents that have occurred in the area, raising concerns about public safety. The most recent incident took place on the 9400 block of Desert Inn just after 7:15 p.m. on a Wednesday evening, where a suspect reportedly displayed a firearm while attempting to steal items from a local store.

According to the police report, the suspect entered the store and concealed items with the intent to steal. When confronted by an employee, the suspect displayed a firearm but did not point it at the employee, later fleeing the scene on foot. At this time, the suspect remains at large, and law enforcement officials are actively searching for the individual involved.

In a separate incident on May 17, around 5 p.m., another robbery involving strong-arm tactics is under investigation. A woman entered a business near Nellis and Charleston Boulevard and began stealing products. When confronted by a store clerk, she attacked the clerk by punching and choking them before making her escape. The suspect in this case is described as a female between 20 and 25 years old, standing between 5′0 to 5′6 tall, weighing approximately 140 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black bonnet, sunglasses, a black shirt, blue shorts, and yellow or cream-colored shoes, while carrying a brown purse.

Police are urging anyone who may have information regarding these robberies to reach out. Citizens can contact LVMPD at (702) 828-3591 or provide anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.

In addition to these recent incidents, another robbery occurred on April 24 at 1:45 a.m. at a business located on the 300 block of North Mojave Road. This connection involves a female suspect described as 5-foot-7 with a thin build, between 25 and 30 years old, who had black and green hair or possibly a wig. She was wearing a green mask, black top, and blue jeans at the time of the robbery.

Further investigations include a shooting incident that took place on the 3500 block of Las Vegas Blvd. S. on Saturday. Concurrently, LVMPD is also delving into a robbery that took place at a Summerlin nail salon where suspects discharged fire extinguishers within the establishment.

On May 3, another armed robbery occurred around 7 p.m. near the 7000 block of North Durango Drive, with police still searching for three suspects. The first suspect is a Black male with a thin build who was wearing a black hoodie emblazoned with a “CALI” logo. The second suspect is a white male with a medium build, also in a black hoodie. The third suspect is another Black male, thin in build, who was seen wearing a red hoodie. Authorities are encouraging anyone with leads on these suspects to contact LVMPD’s Commercial Robbery Section or Crime Stoppers.

These ongoing investigations highlight a troubling trend of robbery incidents in Las Vegas. Recently, a man with prior felony convictions was sentenced to 49 years in prison for multiple armed robberies that took place in the city. The LVMPD is committed to addressing these crimes and ensuring the safety of residents and businesses alike.

The rise in armed robberies has sparked concern among local businesses and residents, leading to increased police patrols in affected areas. As the investigations continue, authorities remain hopeful that public assistance will help apprehend those responsible for these crimes.
