Las Vegas Welcomes Large Crowd for “Feed The Block” Event

Las Vegas witnessed an incredible turnout last night as approximately 6,000 people flocked to the Fremont East district for the much-anticipated “Feed The Block” event. The event featured a live performance by the popular Major Lazer Soundsystem, which includes renowned artists Diplo, Walshy Fire, ApeDrums, and America Foster.

Major Lazer’s Latest Hits and Performances

The night was filled with electrifying energy as Major Lazer performed a series of their biggest hits, including the chart-topping tracks “Light It Up,” “Lean On,” and “Que Calor.” In a notable addition to their lineup, America Foster has expanded her act into a quartet and contributed to Major Lazer’s first original track since 2024 titled “Gangsta.” This latest release also includes frequent collaborator Busy Signal and producer Kybba, further showcasing the dynamic and evolving sound of Major Lazer.

Upcoming Events and Community Support

The “Feed The Block” event is set to return on October 27, with the headlining act yet to be announced. This monthly event, which is planned to be held for the 18-and-over crowd at the intersection of 6th and Fremont Streets, is made possible through the support of Corner Bar Management and Wynn Nightlife. The unique stage atop the Forest House Art Car has previously been showcased at notable festivals such as Burning Man, Electric Daisy Carnival, and Life is Beautiful.

Additional Events Over the Weekend

As part of the vibrant weekend lineup, numerous events are lined up for locals and visitors alike. Lil Jon is set to perform during the halftime show at the upcoming Raiders-Chargers game, with Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child scheduled to sing the national anthem. To celebrate Mexican Independence Day, a mariachi band will perform. Additionally, the 39th annual Aid for AIDS of Nevada (AFAN) Black & White Party is happening tonight at Kaos Nightclub at the Palms, featuring a “Wild West” theme and performances by celebrities including David Hernandez from “American Idol” and “RuPaul’s Drag Race” performers.

New Music and Radio Initiatives

The entertainment landscape is also enriched with musical launches, as Jonathan Karrant released his new album titled “Live In Concert” on Friday. The album features 14 re-arranged songs recorded live at Myron’s, with an album release show planned for September 24. Further enhancing the local music scene, Acid 87.7 FM, a 24-hour dance music station aiming to mix EDM artists for both local and visiting audiences, launched in late 2022.

Ryan Doherty, the founder of Corner Bar Management, has expressed his intention to establish “Feed The Block” as a regular fixture in the Las Vegas events calendar, providing an accessible platform for music lovers without cover charges.
