Pizza Rock, co-founded by Tony Gemignani, a multi-World Pizza Champion, has been praised for its impressive variety and technical mastery in various pizza styles. Since its opening in fall 2013 in downtown Las Vegas, the establishment has garnered a strong reputation. It notably improved its ranking from 28th in 2024 to 33rd in 2025, showcasing its continued commitment to quality.

Double Zero Pie & Pub, located in Las Vegas’ Chinatown and opened in 2023, is spearheaded by another World Pizza Champion, Michael Vakneen. The pizzeria has gained recognition for its contemporary Neapolitan-style pizzas, with particular emphasis on its signature eggplant caponata pie. Double Zero not only made a strong entry into the rankings but also climbed from 45th in 2024 to 43rd in 2025.

The 50 Top Pizza list is compiled through anonymous evaluations, assessing several factors including pizza quality, the dining atmosphere, customer service, and drink offerings. The rankings feature pizzerias from not only the U.S. but also from regions such as Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America.

In this year’s rankings, Una Pizza Napoletana in New York was honored as the best pizzeria in the United States for the third consecutive year. Other notable contenders include Pizzeria Sei in Los Angeles, which secured the second position, and Tony’s Pizza Napoletana in San Francisco, coming in third.

The official awards ceremony took place on July 1st at the West Edge inside Chelsea Market in New York City. The event was hosted by Scott Wiener from Scott’s Pizza Tours and was live-streamed for pizza enthusiasts unable to attend in person.

Additionally, the event awarded L’industrie Pizzeria in New York with the Pizza of the Year award for its New Yorker Pie. The guide also recognized excellent pizza-by-the-slice spots, revealing a wider appreciation for diverse culinary styles within the pizza community.

Of particular interest is that the top twelve pizzerias from the U.S. list will be included in the forthcoming 100 Best Pizzerias in the World ranking, which is set to be announced in Naples on September 8th. The assessments for the rankings focused heavily on the overall customer experience and the final quality of the pizza product served.

The 50 Top Pizza guide not only highlights the best pizzerias but also awarded several other categories, including the best fried food, dessert options, wine selections, and cocktail lists, further emphasizing the diversity and creativity found within the pizza industry in the United States.
