The Las Vegas dining scene is undergoing significant changes as several iconic restaurants and bars announce their closures, impacting both patrons and team members alike. The recent developments reflect a challenging environment for the restaurant industry, which has seen many establishments both open and shut down in a short period.

Count’s Vamp’d Rock Bar & Grill closed its doors on June 28 after serving the community for over 16 years. Founded by Danny “Count” Koker, the venue was famous for its vibrant live music acts and diverse bar menu. Following its closure, the property was put up for sale with an asking price of $4.3 million.

In addition to Vamp’d, Social Station Kitchen & Cocktails in Henderson, which opened in May 2024, shut down just less than a year later in April 2025. This abrupt closure led to confusion among customers, as online reservation systems remained active even after the restaurant ceased operations.

EDO Tapas & Wine, known for its innovative tasting menus, has also announced its closure, set for September 2025, as it makes way for a new establishment named Braseria. Similarly, Spiedini Fiamma Italian Bistro closed in May 2025, clearing the path for Ai Pazzi to take its place. Additionally, the high-end dining experience at Alain Ducasse’s Rivea, located on the 64th floor of W Las Vegas, concluded its operation after nearly a decade on June 22.

The temporary closure trend is also evident among notable cocktail bars. The Electra Cocktail Club at the Venetian Resort paused operations on June 29 for renovations to introduce a new design and cocktail menu. Meanwhile, the SW Steakhouse at the Wynn has plans to reopen after further updates scheduled until August 7. Similarly, CliQue Bar & Lounge at the Cosmopolitan is in the process of a full remodel and will remain closed for an undetermined time.

The X Pot is scheduled to close for renovations in August after hosting a limited-time unlimited wagyu and live seafood hotpot experience. This shift in the dining landscape is further underscored by the closures of notable Las Vegas Strip restaurants like the Riviera-inspired Picasso and Mr. Chow at Caesars Palace after nearly nine years of operation.

Additional restaurants that have recently closed include Bahama Breeze at Howard Hughes Parkway, which affected several team members, and Chinglish, which faced challenges in offering competitive wages to its skilled workforce. The Crown & Anchor British Pub concluded its nearly 30-year service in July, while Forte Tapas closed in March after 15 years of serving its Eastern European comfort food. Other establishments, such as Kitchen Table, known for its popular brunches, closed after its lease expired.

The trends observed in Las Vegas’ dining scene reflect a volatile industry impacted by various operational challenges and market conditions. Furthermore, La Popular CDMX closed after just over a year in operation, along with the recently opened Sundry Food Hall, which ceased operations after just one year. The closure of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, part of Lost Spirits Distillery, occurred in April when the distillery itself shut down, leaving a gap for fans of themed dining experiences.

This current wave of restaurant closures indicates the shifting dynamics within the Las Vegas dining scene, as the market continues to navigate economic hurdles and evolving consumer preferences. Industry experts highlight the need for restaurants to adapt quickly to these changes in order to survive, especially as new establishments prepare to enter the market.
