Amid rising travel costs and a decline in summer travel intentions, Las Vegas resorts are offering enticing staycation deals to attract local residents. Promotions include discounts on accommodations, entertainment, and dining. Options range from complimentary parking and waived resort fees to special packages that enhance the summer experience without the need to travel far. Key resorts like Resorts World, South Point, and Golden Nugget are tweaking their offers to cater to locals and build tourism as travel habits shift.
Las Vegas resorts are rolling out attractive summer staycation deals as recent trends reveal that only 46% of U.S. adults plan to travel during the summer months. A survey conducted by Bankrate indicates that the rising costs associated with travel have prompted about one in ten Americans to opt for staycations instead of vacationing away from home. This shift in consumer behavior has significantly impacted tourism in Las Vegas, leading local resorts to develop appealing offers aimed particularly at local residents.
In response to declining travel intentions, numerous Las Vegas resorts are introducing specials that not only enhance the summer experience but also make it more affordable for those choosing to stay close to home. For instance, Resorts World is offering complimentary parking for all guests until August 28. Additionally, locals who enroll in the Genting Rewards program can enjoy a 20% discount on hotel accommodations, dining, and spa services, along with free entry to the Zouk Nightclub on Thursdays.
South Point is also inviting locals with a summer staycation deal that includes a one-night stay for $105 from Sunday to Thursday, and $175 for Friday and Saturday. This offer runs until September 6 and additionally provides guests $25 in slot play and two complimentary pool drinks.
Another intriguing option is Circa’s All-In Summer Hotel Package, which is available until September 4. This package offers a two-night stay for $400, inclusive of $100 in dining and beverage credits and a daybed reservation at the popular Stadium Swim.
Golden Nugget is waiving resort fees for reservations made through June 30, 2026, if booked by July 31. They also host Night Swim parties at The Tank pool every weekend. Downtown Grand features a summer special called “Sun, Stay and Save,” allowing guests to book two nights for $129 on weekdays or $250 on weekends, which includes drink tickets and dining credits.
The Palms offers a 30% discount on room rates along with a brunch buffet for guests, while Sahara Las Vegas waives resort fees on reservations until August 28. Their rates start at $59 on weekdays and $139 on weekends, and they offer free room upgrades and discounted spa tickets. Silverton has its exclusive Swimmin’ Hole pool for hotel guests, but locals can purchase day passes for $25.
Throughout the summer, Durango’s Summer Dreamin’ package offers discounts of up to 30% on room rates. The Plaza hotel has an all-inclusive offer starting at $125 per person through August 30, which includes breakfast, dinner, drinks, and waives resort fees. M Resort has joined in on the summer savings by waiving resort fees and providing a 30% discount on room rates to locals.
Circus Circus introduces a Family Circus Pass that offers remarkable deals on wristbands for the Adventuredome amusement park, while Treasure Island features deluxe rooms starting at $79 for members of the MyTI Guestbook & Treasury Players Club and provides free valet and self-parking for all guests. The Strat hotel’s “Summer of Value” promotion offers midweek room rates of $49 and $99 on weekends, which includes dining credits and entry to the Observation Deck.
Locals can also find discounts of up to 35% with Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, where parking is complimentary. Additionally, MGM Resorts International is delivering limited-time packages across their properties that include dining credits and free show tickets with stays of two nights or more.
To further support local residents, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority has compiled a collection of summer deals showcasing an array of discounts tailored for locals, reinforcing the effort of resorts to attract guests close to home amid changing travel plans.
