Mount Charleston, Nevada – A luxury log cabin situated at an elevation of 9,125 feet has been listed for sale at a price of $2.25 million. Located at 4190 Cougar Ridge Trail, this exquisite property is considered one of the highest homes in Nevada, offering breathtaking views and upscale living in a serene mountain setting.

The cabin encompasses 4,260 square feet over two stories, featuring three bedrooms and three bathrooms, including an oversized primary suite. The listing is represented by Ivan Sher, founder and CEO of IS Luxury, who recognizes the unique nature of this property.

Known as “Bristlecone Heights”, the cabin derives its name from the ancient Bristlecone pine trees that dot the landscape. Homeowner Ennis Jordon reports that at least a dozen of these trees are present on the property, some estimated to be around 5,000 years old. The cabin itself incorporates logs sourced from the land, featuring wall treatments made from wood that is believed to be 1,200 years old. A special artistic touch is provided by Zineb Jordan, Ennis’s wife, who took two years to hand-carve a sculpture of a swan from local wood.

The property is designed for sustainable living, operating off-the-grid with a comprehensive solar power system that includes 24 solar panels and a battery backup of the same number. For backup power, it features a propane generator, while a 450-foot deep domestic well offers water supply. The heating is provided through a wood-burning fireplace located in the main living area, ensuring warmth and comfort during the winter months.

Internet and television services are facilitated by Hughesnet and DISH TV respectively, allowing residents to stay connected while enjoying the tranquility of the mountain.

Ennis Jordon spent five years searching for the perfect mountaintop location before he purchased the initial rustic cabin in 1996, along with 2.32 acres of pristine land. The original structure, built in 1930, was partially demolished in 2010 to make way for the modern log cabin that stands today. The construction was no small feat, requiring significant rock removal and the hauling of logs from Montana along a challenging single-lane mountain road. It took three years to complete the project, with high-quality woodwork taking a year alone.

The interior boasts a 25-foot vaulted ceiling and features such as a stone wood-burning fireplace and expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing plenty of natural light to illuminate the space. The elegant design includes hand-laid red oak hardwood flooring arranged in a herringbone pattern, a labor-intensive endeavor that took over two months to complete. The kitchen is equipped with luxurious amenities, including a professional-grade Wolf six-burner stove, custom alder wood cabinetry, and porcelain tile flooring.

The primary suite not only offers stunning views but also grants access to a deck overlooking the picturesque valley. The accompanying primary bath is built for indulgence, featuring a voluminous walk-in shower with a stone surround and travertine stone flooring.

In addition to its luxurious amenities, the cabin is conveniently located near Lee Canyon Ski Resort, which provides year-round recreational activities such as skiing, hiking, and mountain biking. Ennis Jordon has utilized the property for numerous events, from his daughter’s wedding to large gatherings with over 100 guests.

Residents of Bristlecone Heights benefit from the lack of homeowners association fees, making the property even more appealing. Situated on a private 2.32-acre lot, this luxury cabin offers spectacular 360-degree views of the Las Vegas Strip, the surrounding valley, and majestic mountains.
