The Elemental Dance Company is set to hold its second annual Mental Health Charity Showcase in Las Vegas on June 28 and 29, 2025, at the CSN Horn Theater. This event aims to raise awareness and foster dialogue about mental health issues prevalent within the dance community and beyond. The showcase will feature contemporary dance performances, integrating movement and storytelling to enhance mental health awareness.
Before each show, a special raffle will be conducted from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Athletes Against Anxiety and Depression Foundation, highlighting the commitment of the Elemental Dance Company to inspire change and provide support for mental health initiatives.
The main goal of this showcase is to engage the dance community in important conversations about mental health. By bringing together performers and audience members, the event seeks to provide a platform for discussing mental health challenges and solutions. Through the art of dance, the Elemental Dance Company encourages participants to express their struggles and share experiences, ultimately aiming to enhance understanding and remove the stigma associated with mental health issues.
Attendees are reminded to check with the venue for any event confirmations, as cancellations may occasionally occur in Las Vegas. This showcases a commitment not only to art but to communal well-being.
Aside from the Elemental Dance Company’s event, Las Vegas will also host several other noteworthy happenings. Musical group Panchiko will perform with support from Tanukichan at AREA15, and renowned artist Cali Tucker will make her debut at the Aliante Casino on June 28. The Independence Day celebration at Circa Resort & Casino will also provide stunning views from the 60th floor, highlighting the city’s vibrant event calendar.
Diane Davis, a pivotal force behind the showcase, has an extensive background in both dance education and mental health counseling. Having begun her training at the age of five, she has pursued her passion diligently, securing dance scholarships along with degrees in Dance Education and Modern Dance. Davis’s journey took a transformative turn when she transitioned from teaching dance in Las Vegas to focusing on mental health. She earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Dance/Movement Therapy.
Throughout her career, Davis has faced various challenges, including financial commitments to education and navigating the complexities of the COVID-19 pandemic. She also encountered hurdles such as application denials for intern licenses but persevered in overcoming these obstacles to establish herself in the field. Today, she stands out as one of the few dance/movement therapists practicing in Las Vegas, dedicated to blending creativity with evidence-based mental health practices to improve the quality of life for her clients.
Particularly interested in older adults and individuals suffering from anxiety disorders, Davis incorporates dance/movement therapy techniques to facilitate emotional healing. Her unique approach not only emphasizes movement but also aims to build a supportive community where individuals can share their experiences and find solace in creativity.
The importance of integrating artistry and mental health is echoed by audience reactions to various performances in the city, such as those by Shen Yun Performing Arts. Viewers have praised the group for its cultural representation and the themes of spirituality it portrays, showcasing beauty and resilience in the face of challenges. The positive impact of these performances underscores the deeply intertwined relationship between art and mental well-being.
Overall, the Elemental Dance Company’s upcoming Mental Health Charity Showcase is poised to be an important event for fostering mental health awareness and support through the transformative power of dance.
