Boulder City, Nevada
Servio “Sy” Perri, a 19-year-old motorcyclist from Henderson, was tragically killed in a crash involving a semi-truck on Interstate 11 near Boulder City on April 29. The fatal accident occurred just before 12:45 p.m. at the intersection of northbound I-11 and Railroad Pass Casino Road, leaving his family and friends in mourning.
According to preliminary reports from state police, Sy’s motorcycle collided with a semi-truck, resulting in his death, which has been ruled an accident by the Clark County coroner’s office. Sy’s life was not only marked by his love for motorcycling but also by his impressive career in the events production industry.
Sy was raised in a family deeply embedded in the events production scene. Starting from a young age, he began working for his parents’ company, Right Brain Entertainment. His commitment to his career led him to transfer from Foothill High School to the Clark County Accelerations Academies, where he graduated early. This dedication made him the youngest member of Stagehands Local 720, a significant milestone in his budding career.
With his father, John Perri, serving as a rigging instructor with Local 720, Sy was inspired to pursue a path in event production. He earned his rigging certification at just 17 years old, becoming one of the youngest individuals in the history of Local 720 to gain certification in rope access. Throughout his career, Sy developed a portfolio that included prestigious events such as concerts at Allegiant Stadium, performances at the Sphere, and the Electric Daisy Carnival music festival.
Sy is survived by his parents, Tari and John Perri, as well as his sisters, Sophia and Gianna, and his longtime girlfriend, Leyla Matzke. His family is currently organizing a private funeral set for May 13, followed by an open house for friends and relatives to gather in memory of Sy. Additionally, his friends and family plan to honor him with a “flag run” on May 17, where participants will drive vehicles adorned with flags along the Las Vegas Strip to celebrate his life.
To help cover funeral expenses, a GoFundMe campaign has been established, successfully raising nearly $4,000 of its $10,000 goal as of Monday. This initiative reflects the solidarity and support of the community during this difficult time.
Tari Perri, Sy’s mother, expressed her desire that her son’s untimely death could lead to important changes in Nevada traffic laws aimed at protecting younger, less-experienced motorcycle riders. This request comes amid a broader concern as Nevada recorded at least 10 motorcyclist fatalities in April alone, representing a noticeable increase compared to previous figures from 2024.
As the family copes with this devastating loss, Sy’s sister, Sophia Perri, shared a reflective moment, noting that he lived life to the fullest and suggesting that Sy would have no regrets about his life choices had he been present at this moment. The memory of Sy Perri will undoubtedly resonate within the hearts of many, as they remember a young man who made a significant impact both professionally and personally.
